Shed Fire

7-28-14 – Just before 8PM station 48 was alerted for a shed fire with extension into the first floor of a residence. Engine 48-4 was first on scene under the direction of Captain Simons. Upon the arrival of the first engine flames were visible from the rear of the structure. Crews quickly went to work extinguishing the fire, and checking for the possible extension. The fire was found to be contained to two sheds with minimal extension into the house. 500’ of supply line was laid from the first engine, and a hydrant was placed in service for water supply. One handline was placed into service for extinguishment. Crews brought the fire under control in close to 10 minutes, and remained on scene for another 15 minutes getting their units back in service.
