Archie Dill


FELTON - Archie Dill of Felton died of natural causes Saturday, June 16, 2001, in Felton Convalescent Home. He was 87. Mr. Dill was born Jan. 18, 1914, near Whitleysburg, son of the late Manlove and Mary "Mame" Dill. He attended the Thomas School and the Felton High School. He was a farmer all of his life in the Felton area. Mr Dill was a life member of the Felton Community Volunteer Fire Co., a trustee of the Manship United Methodist Church, an honorary trustee of the now Manship Chapel, a member of the Felton I.O.O.F. Lodge 30 and of Sarah Rebekah Lodge 16, and a committeeman for A.S.C.S. for 15 years. He also was a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau and the Harrington Senior Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Dill, James Dill and Roy Dill; and two sisters, Hazel Black and Irene Bickling. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanette Dill of Felton; five sisters, Janie Walls of Greensboro, Md., Hilda Donovan of Houston, Linda Ellis of Laurel, Helen Dyer of Harrington and Anna Daniels of Woodside; a godchild, Carrie J. Duncan of Harrington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bruce Tribbitt, pastor of Manship Chapel, the Rev. James Walls and the Rev. Brian Bright officiating. Burial will be in Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.
