Grace M. Havelow


FELTON – Grace M. Havelow of Felton died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.  She was 84.

 

Mr. Havelow was born in Milford, the daughter of the late John N. and Nettie Green.

 

She loved to bake and cook, and was known for her apple cakes.  She liked to travel and would collect spoons from each place she visited.

 

Mrs. Havelow was a member of the Felton Avon Club, the Felton United Methodist Women and the Harrington Senior Center.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Havelow; and a stepson, Robert Havelow.

 

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Betty Ann Havelow of Felton; a stepdaughter-in-law, Emily Ann Havelow; two sisters-in-law, Florence Green and Mary Green, both of Felton; a grandson, Richard Havelow, and his wife JoAnn; three step-grandsons, Ronald Havelow of Felton, Robin Havelow of Melbourne, Fla., and Randall Havelow of Delmar; three step-granddaughters, Lisa Havelow and Linda Miller, both of Felton, and Kathy Conaway of Milford; a nephew; and four nieces.

 

Burial was in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

 

She was a life member of the Felton Fire Company Auxiliary and enjoyed cooking and helping at the auxiliary dinners.  Her husband, Jimmy, was a life and 50 year member of the FCFC.  Grace’s mother, Nettie Green, was a life member of the Auxiliary.  Her sister-in-law, Florence Green, was a member of the Auxiliary and sister-in-law, Mary Green, was a life and 50 year member.
