Combine Fire W Evens Rd

On Sunday December 6, 2015 at 3:31 pm The Felton Community Fire Company was dispatched to a report of a combine fire at 111 W Evens Rd in Viola.  As units responded to the call, they noticied black smoke visible from Felton.

Upon arrival of Brush 48, they found a combine in the middle of a bean field with heavy fire coming from the vehicle. Firefighters quickly went to work pulling a handline and battling the blaze.

Rescue 48-1 was the second piece into the scene and the unit was advised to pull a supply line to feed water into Brush 48  Tanker 48-5 arrived and was ordered to stage on W Evens Rd.

It took 19 minutes to bring the blaze under control and units were in service for 1 hour  Units on the call A48,Brush 48,Rescue 48-1 and Tanker 48-5.
